A few blocks from me there is a small Kroger store…months ago they cut a hole
in the brick to make an opening for their Click to shop system where we order
from our phone App what we want while at work, on the beach, wherever….when
time permits we drive to the designated parking spots and notify Kroger we are
ready for the delivery. Two employees bring out with a wagon, one heads to the
driver to go over he list and receive payment while the other employee is
loading the bags into the vehicle…

Wonder if folks will like this? Will it be used?

Tuesday of this week one of the managers of the store was in, saying that
Monday they had 128 people drive up and receive their products…they have had 5
employees quit in the last week, the workload is so heavy it’s not worth it so
they leave…..

It was this managers understanding that Walmart in New Albany, which also had
this service, had just stopped offering as they also had no idea the magnitude
of the reception and they were not prepared.

My reason for sharing this with a Mac group is the face Technology is taking in
our society….there is a massive acceptance to anything that is going to make
our lives easier…thus the success of Apple as every product from the Mac in
1984 to the iPod with our music, the iPhone, and all the forthcoming goodies
are successful because they do change the way we live….

It’s it a wonderful thing, what person working a long shift wants to spend 30
minutes walking the isle of a grocery before heading home to feed the
munchkins..

It’s also a lightbulb moment for those of you who can come up with a newer and
better method of fulfilling human’s need for simplicity. This week, on Apple
News, I read of two brothers that with 7 lines of code made themselves
Billionaires…..7…..just 7. Their genius made joining the complicated and
costly digital payment system available to everyone with almost no cost…..only
7 lies of code and you join an elite club….
