Harry, Lots of controversy with this company, many lawsuits, and the FTC has also been after them.
But, the bad publicity has not hurt their sales, I gather most folks listen to the advertisements and don’t check. Another choice might be to check with your insurance company….my company offers protection for $25.00 a year added to your homeowners….if you are hacked you call and our security people handle everything from there, you have to do little…. Our system doesn’t “warn” you as LifeLock says, we handle the mess after the hack……other companies may do it differently. The best way would be to put a Lock on our accounts with each of the reporting agencies…it’s not hard to do, it is a hassle, so your opening a new credit card and your account is locked so you have to ask which of the three the firm is wanting to access…then you get on line and unlock that company…they may charge $25.00 to do this but that’s a small price to pay to have your account locked.
