I’ll only send to this group, my other groups would scratch their head and ask
what am I talking about.

Since I use a Mi-Fi with Verizon when I travel I called wanting to know when
they were going to issue a security patch for the vulnerability of the “Krack”
hack…

I was connected to Level two tech support…the man didn’t have a clue what I was
talking about, hadn’t heard a thing, I literally had to read to him the details
of what had happened…

He moved me up to the next level and now I had an Engineer that know what I was
asking.

Of course the Mi-Fi’s are low on the triage of importance…but eventually there
will be a patch, I assume like all Router’s, one day they will be secured for
most all manufactures.

Then I ask him several questions about 5g, supposedly Verizon is about 18
months ahead of AT&T, they will begin implementing next year, the larger cities
first so I’m guessing Louisville area may have it by 2025!

Advantages are the sustained speed is attained with many more devices then
under 4g before any degradation of speed, the advertised speed is 1 gig, WOW
Cellular with the speed of a wired home or office.

The problem for firms is the method of dispersing the network, it’s going to be
a “Neighborhood" type of connectivity. Cell towers with 4g will also have the
5g attached, however as 4g was faster it also couldn’t extend as far and had
more difficulty passing through structures…5g is taking that to a much higher
level….to combat this the “neighborhood” will have small devices placed on top
Stop signs, telephone poles, Church Crosses, some are even disguised as rocks….

Maybe I was generous in my 2025 date….

I’ve read many articles stating that 5g is going to be as important to the
country as the Industrial or Technical revolution……

We hold our breath…

John
