John, Don’t know what company this refers to. There are places I go (Like the Louisville Free Public Library) where I cannot connect to the internet with VPN turned on.
There are also websites that will not allow me to connect with VPN turned on. I imagine with your work it shouldn’t be a problem. When Sherry (my wonderful bride) worked from home she had a token (a counter that was synced with the mainframe at her work) and when she logged on to work from home she had to enter the 7 digit number showing on the token- it changed every minute.
