error, saying that method is compulsory for cfinvoke, though the code

Yep, it's a bug is CFEclipse. You can file a bug with them as it's not
required if you are passing an attributeCollection.
Glad you got your issue fixed. Not sure where it came from -- I checked
all the official stable release zips and I don't see any of them having
a "method" attribute for the ACF version of the threading adapter.
