I've never seen cfcache do any client-side caching -- I looked at the documentation and it seems to be misleading a bit. The only caching that can be done on the client is to send specific HTTP headers like "expires" and "last-modified" headers. Currently in 1.8.1, we don't send any explicit headers like this but this would be inconsequential to send yourself if the situation warranted it.
