How to update AI10->10.01 (from MacFixIt): 1. Duplicate /Applications/Adobe Illustrator 10/Adobe Illustrator 10 2. Modify the creation date and modification date of /Applications/Adobe Illustrator10/Adobe Illustrator 10/Contents/MacOSClassic/Adobe Illustrator 10 to 10/29/01. (From the Terminal, SetFile -d '10/29/2001' -m '10/29/2001' '/Applications/Adobe Illustrator 10/Adobe Illustrator 10/Contents/MacOSClassic/Adobe Illustrator 10,' or use a GUI utility that can change dates.) 3. Launch the Updater, it will now get past the Gathering Information error. 4. With the Updater waiting at the Install Window, delete the original package '/Applications/Adobe Illustrator 10/Adobe Illustrator 10/Contents/MacOSClassic/Adobe Illustrator 10' and rename the duplicate you made earlier, removing ' copy' from the name. This restores the original package as it was. You can also just reinstall from the original CD at this point. You must keep the Updater running and waiting for you to start the Update. 5. Start the Update by pressing 'Install'
