I use python that generates SVG pictures. Then the SVG is converted to 
gcode with pycam or a javascript convertor called svg2gcode.
The website is called cursivedata.co.uk and hosts a few different types of 
live data visualisation. One of my favourites is visualising UK grid usage 
by depicting frequency changes with sine waves:
