I'm experimenting with running my laser engraver with machinekit. Currently I'm running linuxcnc master and have it set up and operating properly.
The trouble I'm having is that my stepgens and my pwmgen doesn't seem to be working properly. The signals are all wired up properly, I have my threads scheduled properly etc.... The stepgen shows it is enabled. Anyhow when I send my position command to the stepgen nothing seems to happen The position-feedback from the stepgen does not change. I also have a 7I84 hooked up to the 5i25 through sserial. All of those pins show up in hal so communication is working properly there. I can set pins on the 7i84 interface and have physically verified that they are changing properly. It looks like the 5i25 is not responding even though it works properly under linuxcnc. Any suggesstions on what could be going on? Any tips or things I should do to debug this?
