It should be usable, but there are likely some minor tweaks required.

RCN has Xenomai 3 kernels available, but the Machinekit rtapi layer
needs to be adapted and the user-space binaries/libraries need to be
available (either from official Debian packages or built from source
and installed).

All in all, it's likely to be *MUCH* easier to get a 4.x PREEMPT_RT
kernel working.  Work has started, but more help and testers would be
appreciated.  Read through the recent thread on the BBGW if you'd like
to help out.
