Hi all,

I'm slowly making a change over from MACH & x86 platform to Machinekit &
BBB. In that time I've been working on a "modular" cape. At the moment it
consists of thre boards, a "passive cape" that attaches to the BBB and
physically groups the pins and two other boards, that mimic a x86 PP pin
out. ie 1 group of 8 outputs, 1 group of 5 inputs ad 1 group of 4 outputs
on the "output board" and 1 group of 8 inputs, 1 group of 5 inputs and 1
group of 4 outputs on the "input board". The Output & Input board connect
via a 26 pin ribbon cable to the "passive cape".
So far I've had a batch of the Passive & Output capes made and am doing
some testing. The main goal of this idea was to make the transfer from a PC
& Parallel port setup to BBB a bit easier (maybe ?). I'm not looking to
make money I have a few boards that will be available for free once I'm
happy and all design files will be put up on github shortly.
Please note that this does not the BBB a parallel port.
The group of 8 outputs on the "Output" board are connected to the PRU pins
for step & direction. The Output & Input boards fit a 72mm PCB DIN Rail
Support. All through hole components have been used for easy assembly.

Thanks for looking.
Cheers Rob
