The hostmot2-firmware-<board> package is required so the FPGA can be
programmed. You have already programmed the FPGA with a custom
bitfile, so you do not need a firmware package.

The hostmot2 firmware should read the configuration ROM from the FPGA
and automatically generate appropriate HAL pins and driver logic to
match what is in the FPGA. Provide details regarding what the driver
is actually detecting vs. what you expect to see.

Your pin file looks OK. As mentioned, provide the output from loading
the hostmot2 driver (and the details of how you're loading the hm2
drivers) and we may be able to spot what's going wrong. To keep
"noise" to a minimum, I suggest trying to load the driver manually
using halcmd rather than launching the full CNC app.
