According to Iona Abbey, the crosses are definitely different.  MacLean's Cross stands at the roadside to the Parish Church and dates back to the 15th century.  St. Martin's Cross stands directly in front of the Iona Abbey and dates back to the 8th century.  There is also a 3rd Celtic cross (St. John's Cross) in the immediate vicinity.

Subject: Check out CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: St. Columba

Hi Karen:
I found some interesting history on St. Columbia but am still trying to get info on the cross. I noticed it's also called St. Martin's Cross in some sites. It certainly is interesting, nonetheless, to peak into the past and see the common references to names and places of today.

Tally Ho!
Love,
Lol
