When we were children on the farm on the East coast we learned to hunt and fish.  The fish we caught and the partridge we shot were used by our family.  As a result of this exposure to nature  we became very  conscious of the environment and how fragile it is. We have therefore become caretakers of our environment and hundreds of millions of our tax dollars are spent to ensure that our children have the opportunity to enjoy it as we have. We are far more concerned about our natural resources than those people in the cities who protest by marching up the streets and chaining themselves to trees in Toronto. The majority of them have never even been to the north  of Barrie.  I have never seen any of those people go to Northern Ontario in the middle of winter to drag feed into the bush to feed deer who were trapped by snow and were in danger of starving. Hunters did this because they care. This is only one of many examples of how hunters care for our natural resources.  Just a little bit of education for those of you who do not hunt or fish. John

Monica, you surely have your opinion,ha! Kathy & I travelled through Newfoundland last summer and loved it. However hunting and fishing(whatever others have left of fishing) is a way of life & source of food(necessary), not sport, to them. They are very conscious of conservation, although there are 8 to 10 moose/square
KM.              BOB        P.S. Your point is well taken.
