That's so pathetic it's actually funny.
They're going to have to launch the spare dinghies now, with the Iroquois out of
commission...

It is a sad day for former sailors when we see one
third of Canada's navy taken out of action by one helicopter crash. Canada
used to have a navy before the inept Liberal govt. took over.

Canadian Gulf-Bound Warship Heads
Home After Crash Thu Feb 27, 1:05 PM ET
OTTAWA (Reuters) - A
Canadian destroyer heading for the Gulf to take part in the U.S.-led war on
terrorism was called back to port on Thursday after the ship's sole
helicopter crashed on take-off, officials said.
The HMCS Iroquois had
only been at sea for three days when the aging Sea King helicopter flipped
onto its side on Thursday morning, slightly injuring two crew
members.
"She is coming back so the damage to the ship and the
helicopter can be assessed. The damage to the ship appears to be minor,"
said Canadian Navy spokeswoman Jeri Grychowski. The ship is due in Halifax
by the end of the week.
The incident is an embarrassment for the
government, which is under fire for the way it has dragged its feet over
replacing the 40-year-old accident-prone Sea Kings amid accusations of
political favoritism and dirty tricks.
The helicopters frequently
fail, sometimes crashing into the sea, while other times preventing
operations from being carried out. Each helicopter requires more than 30
hours of maintenance for every hour it spends in the air.
Ottawa
purchased 41 Sea Kings in 1961 and since then 12 have crashed, killing eight
people. _______________________ Scott
