Subject: Birth Announcement!!
Kate (3 lb. 2 oz.)
Olivia (3 lb. 6 oz.)
and Madeline (3 lb. 12 oz.)
arrived by C-section Monday, May 19th, just before noon, at St. Boniface
Hospital. Proud dad Charles was in the delivery room, accompanied by three
female doctors and numerous nurses ... he said everything "went like
clockwork". They are eight weeks premature, seem to be doing well. The
largest was having breathing difficulties but may have her breathing tube
removed later today. I saw them briefly today, they are so tiny (!), but
perfect.
Joanne's blood pressure had increased, and toxemia was setting in, so
everything was decided very quickly. I saw her today ... I.V. and catheter
are out, and she was getting acquainted with the breast pump machine! I
forgot to remind her to sing, "I enjoy being a girl" while doing so! She'll
be in hospital until Thursday or Friday, as far as I know now.
Thanks to all for your prayers and interest. I'm sure pictures will follow
several weeks from now.
