Subject: Friday 13th.
To those of you who are not familiar with the
significance of this coming friday, it is worth noting that it is the only day
of this year that falls on Friday the 13th.
The great significiance of this, of course, is
the tradition of thousands of "BIKERS". And for Audrey and Ted, it will
be a whole new experience that never and will not ever occur in
Alberta.
The tradition is the celebration of Friday the
13th. where thousands of motorcyclists travel from all over the North American
contentient and some even from outside Nothe America, and all converge on the
town of Port Dover. It started from a couple of friends being invited to ride
their motorcycles to visit a 'fellow' motorcyclist who lived in the
town.
The next year a couple of more friends 'joined
in' and the whole thing has expanded from there. The most noteable part of it
all is the attention paid to the cyclists by the "POLICE" forces in the area.
(road blocks, searches, charges for speeding, impaired driving, vandalism, and
the continual presance of 'numerous' police officers. etc.
The attention of the police, has raised the the
'hype' of the press who seem to be starving for a subject to write
about.
On the part of the 'bikers', all they want is an
excuse to 'ride their bikes' and have a reason for a gathering and enjoy a few
beers, some red neck exhibitions, and then go on back home after leaving a
considerable amout of money with the merchants of the little vacation town of
Port Dover.
So! Ted and Aud. park the car and saunter 'down
town' and join in with your neighbours to help celebrate.'Friday the 13Th.
You'll only get one chance this year. Wish I could be there.
Donnie.
