Subject: "Thanks"
Hi everyone **** thanks to all of you for the kind and
heartfelt words of condolences towards my uncle Eddie's death.
To show you my appreciation for your considerate gesture,
I'd like to tell you a little bit about him . . . .
I know that you didn't know him, but if you had ever
met him or talked to him a bit; without a doubt, you would have
remembered him forever.
He was indeed my "favourite" uncle and to all of my siblings
as well!
He loved life and made the most of it with so
little. This man loved everyone and always saw the personal beauty and
the positive side to everyone. It would explain why all of his children
ended up moving back in the area to enjoy life around him.
He has touched so many, young and old, with his
kindness & humorous & cheerful personality. When he
retired at age 65, a lot of his quality time was spent
outdoors. The word "boredom" was never in my uncle's
dictionary. He was not only family to Mom & Dad, but their
"lifetime best friend" as well. They were always together. It was a
very sad time for him when Dad passed away & then Mom. At the
funeral for Mom last fall, he said to me that as much as he was saddened
and heartbroken for losing them, he also felt so very grateful
for having shared his whole long life with them; and for that
he felt so very blessed. Again, his positive attitude was
remarkable.
His seven children, which are like brothers and sisters to
the seven of us in our family, will greatly miss him.
I feel so blessed today that he was part of my life and that
he lived a long and happy life!
I'm certain that some of you have had a "favourite" uncle at
one time in your life and that you can relate to my sentiments**
Not all uncles are equal!!!
Thanks for reading,
& have a wonderful summer to all of you,
Hope to see soon,
Love, Tonie
