The best, well... easiest and cheapest, way to speed up the transfer rate
would be to purchase a 100BT Ethernet NuBus card. But don't forget, the
processor of the Quadra 800 is a HUGE factor as well! Upgrading this machine
to a PPC machine would help considerably as well. Another iMac would perform
much more admirably than the Q800 will, let alone a larger machine designed
for Server duties.

Also, AppleShare IP 6.3 is MUCH faster at serving your files than the
built-in file sharing of the OS.
