I have a UMAX AstraScan 600s SCSI scanner that I want to connect to a new
iMac. Does anyone know of an adapter that supports this? I bought an
Ariston adapter at the local Mac store, but it doesn't seem to work and
their website is gone.
I noticed one made by Microtech on the internet, but it said the
following: *Note regarding Astra scanners listed above from UMAX: A
termination jumper must be set for these models to work as stand-alone
SCSI devices. Please refer to the link for termination jumper
configuration:
http://www02.umax.com/support/knowledge/solutions.cfm?docs=SC00029.
Does that mean that the scanner has to be terminated? If so, it is, i.e.
there is a termination adapter on the other SCSI port on the back of the
scanner. So would this adapter work? Looking for suggestions to get this
to work. Thanks.
:) Laurie
