Regarding the password issue yesterday, y'all were indeed correct. The eight asterisks mean nothing. The three-digit passwd still works. I can't get my boss to believe that, and he still wants me to "just fix the damn thing."
I'm trying to get an Epson Stylus Color working with EpsonShare. The server is a G3 DT, running EpsonShare Server 1.6.2, the "StylusColor@machinename" file is on the first level of the HD, where the installer placed it. The folder is set to be shared, and appropriate privilleges are set in the file sharing control panel. Websharing is enabled, just in case (have tried with web sharing on and off to eliminate that as an issue). Program Linking over tcp/ip is enabled. The client machine is a TiBook running OS 9.2, connected to the network over ethernet. It is running EpsonShare Client 1.6.2. I can mount the HD from the server on my desktop using Chooser->AppleShare and clicking on the server. However, the support docs state that clients running OS 9 need to connect to the server by using the "Server IP Address." When I click on chooser's "server ip address" button, I get a progress bar, an immediate error message stating "No response from server. Please try again." Any help will be appreciated. Please email offlist as I am in digest mode. Thanks, todd -- MacNetwork is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... XRouter Pro | Share your DSL or cable modem between multiple computers!
