I tried something else. I went to a Norton security web page because
I remember it telling me what my IP address was.

I did that, and it told me my ip address was 63.229.135.124. So I
typed that into my browser. Nothing happened; it just hung. I tried
typing in 192.168.1.101, and went to the web page on my Mac.

So, maybe Norton is not reporting the real IP address correctly, or
maybe I did not set up the ports in the Linksys correctly
(instructions were simple, so I think I did it).

I will work on getting into the Cisco modem tonight and see what IP
address I can come up with.

Thanks again for the good information.
