turning off program linking should definitely stop it, i'm not sure how to stop it otherwise, other than having aliases to the apps you want it to use. along the same lines, if you have multiple copies of an app on different partitions is there any way to choose which one is used by default? seems my mac doesn't even look on the boot drive first.
