I know this isn't exactly network related, but its the only Mac list I'm on... forgive the diversion...
Can anyone confirm how Apple Drive Setup partitions a hard disk? particularly, I'm interested in which partitions end up on the outside of the physical disk (i.e. fastest access) vs. the inside (slowest). I have seen some articles that imply that the first partition you create (i.e. at the top of the bar chart in the program display) is on the outside edge and then it works its way in. I would like some real confirmation from someone who knows. Back on topic: For anyone trying to share a printer from Linux (or any type of Unix for that matter) using netatalk - I never got it to work. However, I did figure out how to create an LPR printer which works great and is (of course) less chatty than Appletalk! Thanks, Trishan -- MacNetwork is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
