The problem is usually the mail server. When a client eMail gets all his
already read mail redownloaded again, it's because the mail server consider
as "not send". An eMail is consider as "not send" on a mail server when a
"not send" or "not delivered" flag is present next to eMail that belong to
you. This flag is there when a new mail comes in the mail server or after a
mail server crash on some Mail server because usually a utility
repair/recovery software may run and reset all flags for all record present
on the server (ASIP Mail Server is a good example).
The solution could be to not keep any mail on the server when it's
downloaded in your client eMail or to follow John's advice or to start
looking for a different email services.
If anyone could ad more to this or to correct some assumption please do so.
The more info we get the smarter we become.
