--I had heard that OSX had much improved networking; I was suspicious and now your question confirms my suspicions. They will not connect/find without some tweating of IP.... I have heard that it may work (direct PC) if IP is set on both platforms. (Dont know how to do that in PC, but probably via Network Neighbor)If all else fails for you and for me, I will try to upgrade my PC MacLan, ($90 for 9.2?; $90 for X.2??)which does work nicely in 9.2, (2 macs, 3 PCs on my network) when I use Jaguar X.2 on my new imac. That may open up PC direct through IP; if not it may set up an Appletalk stack on the Win machine, as in 9.2 and then one can communicate to other macs from the Win server on the Stack.
