A "domain" is a name(shortcut) for a group of TCP/IP addresses. In
the local networking context that can be set by going to the machine
that is your windows server, opening control panels/networking and
then on the identity tab AND in the "properties" for TCP/IP setting
that information in the appropriate blank. Once that is done and the
computer rebooted so it becomes effective, other machines can log in
by using the domain name rather than the TCP/IP number.
