I would recommend to use linksys's wireless ethernet bridge:

It's nice because it is completely independent of the OS, you plug it 
into the ethernet port of the iMac (which is going unused anyway) and 
it bridges it to the wireless network.

It goes for around $100 and it can make any device with ethernet 
wireless.
