One bit of advice, if it says USB, run as fast as you can to something 
else. If it has USB
*AND* Ethernet, that is okay. USB-to-Ethernet bridge devices are 
glitchy and requires special software to operate. I hear Alcatel is 
awful about their USB Mac drivers, but I haven't experienced this first 
hand. Plus you are limited in the way of router choices (I repeat my 
mantra for broadband, GET A ROUTER for security, cost effectiveness, 
and in the case of DSL that uses PPPoE, ease of configuration).  D-Link 
usually makes pretty good equipment.

I'm not 100%, but I think that the Airport does NAT (Network Address 
Translation, so you wouldn't need the router). Especially since you are 
using an Airport Base, GET AN ETHERNET BASED MODEM!!!!!!  Trust me on 
this one. If I told you this and then had to come and set up a 
$#^^$!!^& USB modem, I'd have to slightly maim you ;) No offense 
personally of course, it would just be my professional duty.
