Hi All. I need to know how to change the MAC address on the Ethernet adapter in my PowerMac 8500 under MacOS 9.0.4.
I've been using Win2k on my cable modem (DHCP) for a while now and everything works fine. I plugged in my Mac but it can't obtain an IP address over DHCP. Using a static IP works fine. The same goes for a Linux box I tried. I suspect the ISP is keeping track of the MAC address of my Win2k system and ignoring all others. I know how to change the MAC address on the Linux box to match that on my Win2k system, but I'd like to do the same on my Mac. This troubleshooting is basically to make sure this is the problem. I plan on using the Linux box (Coyote Linux diskless router) as a router/gateway so both my Mac and Windows can share the Internet. Any help would be great. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
