Unless you are using OSX last time I checked (admittedly a few months ago)
they still didn't have X drivers, but the external Ethernet to WiFi boxes it
doesn't matter.

But I guess the point is it is doable, best thing to do is go to your local
computer store with a pad and paper and write down all the WiFi stuff they
have and then do some research on the net ... Tell them you want
802.11****b****  there is also 802.11a which isn't compatible with airport,
and there is 802.11g AKA Airport extreme, which is a lot faster, but will
cost more, and I don't think any of your older Macs could take advantage of
it. 

Since you said that you have a PC that will be on the net, you can get just
about any WiFi router, the software "compatibility" is for setting up the
router, not for getting on the LAN.
