Do any of you have any real life experience with the operating range of Wireless Lan, either Bluetooth or Airport? I have a friend with a tool company who was duped by the phone company (Still monopolies in Europe) into a long contract for his company phonesystem/connection which, needless to say, is analoge. The contract runs out end of next year, and the german Telekom is unwilling to exchange the system or terminate the contract, at least not for any reasonble fee. He has ISDN in his nearby house, and could easily have DSL, so the question arises if such a wireless connection would be feasable to put a real computer network in his shop. As it is, he can connect only with an analoge modem which is hopeless these days.
