Hi All,
I just inherited an AsantePrint box and am trying to get it to work. I'm pretty sure it's an Ethernet to LocalTalk bridge, however, I have no documentation and no software to configure it. I searched the archives for this list and the Asante web site with no luck.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
The front of the box has the words Asante Print and activity lights for Ethernet and Localtalk. The back of the box has connectors for power, BNC and AUI ethernet, a LocalTalk port, an EtherTalk mode switch, and a slot (?) labeled media. The box is about the size of an old modem or a CD drive. There is no date or model number on the box, just a serial number.
Ultimately, I'd like to use this to print to an HP LaserJet printer via my home network from an OS X Mac. If you have a URL to share or experience with a fossil such as this I'd appreciate hearing from you.
thanks,
Mike
