It seems my ISP (Sympatico HSE) blocks port 80. I got around this by setting my web server (MacHTTP) to use port 8080

8080 is a good choice, I think.

Since there are still umpteen unpatched / vulnerable Windoze machines out there, running IIS, many ISPs are blocking inbound port 80 permenantly. It's really a stupid that we have to configure things, at the router level, this way! Guess it would be bad if we attacked the infected machines, using the same vulnerabilities, to permanently shut them down. :\

My router (an Asanté FR1004AL) also includes a dynamic DNS client which works with dyndns.org.

FWIW, if you suddenly find your server can't be accessed, first check the domain name translation itself. Dyndns is a nice service, but it fails often.

I'm running MacHTTP (freeware) under OS 9.1 on a 7200/120.

Ahm still using NetPresenz (PM 7100/66). Been thinking about trying MacHTTP.
