Thanks for the suggestion, but if I had the cash to upgrade my beige
PPC into an OSX machine (were it even possible for my
upgrade-crippled road apple) I wouldn't have needed to ask for a
solution - I could have just bought a solution.  ;)  I am really
looking for a no(low) cost non-OS-X solution.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll save your suggestions for when I
get a new(er) primary mac and have a secondary OS X machine available
for a file server/entertainment center.
