Hi listers,

Recently, I have been experiencing problems with my 802.11b wireless setup in
my home/office...

All in all, I have two PCI desktops (6400, 7600) and several Powerbooks using
it. All of my machines use classic OS's, from OS 8.1 to OS 9:

-My desktops and my Powerbook 1400c use Proxim/Farallon Skyline 802.11b cards
(the desktops each has a PCI adapter), using Skyline drivers;

-my Powerbook 2400, Powerbook 3400 and Powerbook G3 Wallstreet all use Lucent
Orinoco 802.11b cards, using Orinoco drivers and Airport (in the Wallstreet)
and;

-my iBook and Powerbook G3 Pismo each have an airport card, using Airport
software.

Now, because of the above, I have to use AOL 5.0 (instead of a nicer, more
modern version) for Macs. When I use it on my machines that are using either an
Orinoco card OR an Airport card, occasionally AOL will suddenly shut down,
telling me that it lost the connection, or the connection was ended. Sometimes,
all it takes is signing back on, but MOST times it causes the whole network to
go down, necessitating resetting the router.

This never happens when I use a machine with a Skyline card. I am using my
7600/Farallon Syline wifi setup now, in fact...

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? I am wondering if getting
an Airport Base Station, and using it in conjunction with the wireless router
(speedstream) is feasible?
