Thanks for the replies. I was told it would be easier and you would not need another program to Network a PC and a Mac if the Mac has OSX and the PC had Windows XP. But so far I have had no luck. All the Macs and the PC are Hard wire Ethernet. What I had done before all of this ( and it worked fine until someone had the bright idea to upgrade and one HAD to have a PC) was I had file folders on the main hard drive (server) and shared those folders. That way if there was a file that needed to be shared all you had to do was drop it in the approiate folder for that particular machine. I would like to do the same if I can. I have the folders there but I can not drop anything into them or I get messages that say server can not be located etc. I have appletalk turned on, didn't know I could try it without. I have followed all the the network set up instructions at : http://macosx.axisit.net/osx_networking/config_shares.html & http://macosx.axisit.net/osx_networking/setup_windows.html & http://homepage.mac.com/carlson/os9x filesharing only.html
But none of the above seem to help. If I don't answer right away, it is because the computers are not where my main computer is and I have to find time to go to their location and try the solutions when no one is usuing them. Hope this all makes sense. Again, Thanks for any and all help. Pam -- MacNetwork is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... XRouter Pro | Share your DSL or cable modem between multiple computers!
