Hi

Recently I purchased a Dayna Etherprint 3 adaptor off eBay with the intention of using it to connect a LaserWriter Select 360 to my iMac G3/400. I connected the LocalTalk lead to the printer and the ethernet one to the computer, but when I try to turn on AppleTalk on, i run into problems.

I selected "Make AppleTalk active" in the Network Prefs, and i made sure that it is activated in Directory Access. However, when i select "Appletalk" in the printer setup utility, it says "Unable to activate AppleTalk". My iMac is running OS X 10.3.9.

Also, in the Network Preferences, it says for ethernet that the network lead is not plugged in, even though the adaptor is. I've tried using both crossover and straight through leads, but neither seem to turn it on and activate AppleTalk! I'm no expert on Ethernet, until now i've only ever dealt with LocalTalk.

I would like to use the adaptor to connect some of my older Macs to the iMac, but i can't until i can get AppleTalk to turn on properly.

Any suggestions?
