I’m trying to debug a packet tunnel provider + application on OS X, and I’m
running into sandboxing problems when the system tries to load the provider.

What I get in the logs is:

        Dec 11 13:29:44 mysystem pkd[334]: ignoring mis-configured plug-in at
<<build location>>/myprovider.appex: plug-ins must be sandboxed

The app extension was created with the current templates, I’ve got the right
entitlements for a packet tunnel provider, and everything’s signed with the
correct IDs/provisioning profiles.

Anyone know if there’s a way around this? For debugging at least I’d expect a
way to force load.

As a last resort is it likely that turning off system protections (as for
testing unsigned KEXTs) would fix this?

Kevin
