Aladdin ships enterprise solution

Aladdin Systems has announced StuffIt Express Enterprise Edition, a business
productivity tool designed to save companies time and money by automating secure data
delivery within and beyond the enterprise, as well as routine tasks like data backups.
With easy-to-use wizards, users set up a customer-specific "Express Box" that handles
all aspects of Internet/Intranet data delivery tasks including data compression,
encryption, uploading files to password-protected FTP sites, and emailing
notification, that is activated with one easy drag and drop. Express boxes can also be
set up and provided to customers so that sending files to the business is convenient
and simple.
By reducing the number of steps necessary to complete everyday file transfer tasks,
StuffIt Express saves users time and money. StuffIt Express allows computer users to
create custom data delivery and communication solutions that adapt as the customer
relationship changes or grows. The StuffIt Express scheduling feature helps reduce
loads on busy office networks by providing the option of executing tasks at scheduled
times, such as evenings when network traffic is lower. Driven by a simple
drag-and-drop interface, StuffIt Express requires no knowledge of programming or
scripting.

designed to ease the flow of communication and increase productivity for businesses
that depend on electronic file transfers.
Availability and Requirements StuffIt Express is available online . StuffIt Express is
sold by license according to number of users (5, 10, 25, 50 and unlimited) or StuffIt
Express Personal Edition is available in StuffIt Deluxe. StuffIt Express is available
for PowerPC-based Macintosh computers running Mac OS 8.6 and above, including Mac OS
X, as well as various flavors of Windoze.
Analysis: Are we being taken for granted? In recent months, Aladdin has put its focus
squarely on creating and marketing solutions to Windoze users. For example, v7.5 is
the latest version for Windoze and we''ve been stuck at 6.5 for at least (yes?).
Moreover, the press release for StuffIt Express mentions Mac compatibility in passing
-- "is also available for Macintosh."
I''m not sure what to make of this. Yes, Aladdin''s Mac-compatible solutions are
basically up-to-date, but we have definitely been put on the back burner. Besides a
lust for money, can anyone think of any reason why Mac support has been put on the
back burner?
