M$ posts IE updates
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
July 5th 2002

Redmond has posted new dot-dot revisions for both Classis and X

Microsoft has posted revised versions of its Internet Explorer for both OS X (v5.2.1)
and Classic (v.5.1.5). The updated X-compatible browser requires X.1.5. The updated
Classic-compatible browser can be used with MacOS 8.1 through 9.x.x.

According to M$'' website, these updates "provide all the latest security and
performance enhancements for Internet Explorer5 for [the] Mac." IE for X adds Quartz
text smoothing.

Currently, IE for Classic v5.1.5 is only available in English. IE for X v5.2.1 is
available in the full palate of languages supported by M$ on the Mac -- French,
German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Swedish.

Unfortunately, M$ doesn''t yet support Chinese, Korean, Arabic or Hebrew. If you are
interested in seeing IE, Office and other M$ for products ported to these languages,
please contact the company using this page.
