xtunes delivers iPod compatibility to Linux
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
July 6th 2002
The iPod is just too cool to be used on a single platform
Tex9, a small software company based in San Francisco dedicated to producing apps for
the Unix desktop, has announced a public beta (registration required) of its xtunes
iPod plugin. This widget provides full iPod support for Linux users. It is a plugin
for xtunes, Tex9''s iTunes clone for Linux, that allows simple drag-and-drop of songs
and playlists to an iPod.
xtunes is also available and outwardly resembles Apple''s benchmark mp3 playback,
ripping and cataloging app.
