MWNY: 17" LCD iMac Announced

Apple goes the iBook route.
Steve Jobs this morning announced the widely-anticipated 17" LCD iMac, priced at
$1,999.
Equipped with a DVD-R SuperDrive, the 17" iMac features support for up to 1440c900
resolution, a two-thirds larger display area than the 15" iMac. The 15" DVD-R iMac
continues, but with its price dropped back to its original $1,799 price before
MacWorld Expo Tokyo in February.
The 17" iMac also adds a GeForce4 graphic chipset, and includes an 80GB hard drive and
256MB RAM. It will be available in August.
