Put your Xserve in a bunker for $99/mo co-location
Hosting company offers to wire up that Xserve in an underground bunker at an
affordable price.
Looking for a place to store your Xserve? Host Solutions is now offering a flat $99
per month for 1U co-location. The package includes 10 GB of bandwidth per month with
no daily peak limits. Extra monthly bandwidth is available for $3 per GB over the
allotted 10 GB.
The co-location facilities are located in an interestingly secure location. The server
farm in an converted Gypsum mine near Grand Rapids, Michigan. The server rooms sit 85
feet below ground in a static geo-thermal environment. The facilities are connected
via multiple DS3 connections to UUNET and QWEST networks.
Host Solutions also offer full 40U rack hosting solutions for $1549 per month and
includes 400 GB of transfer per month.
Host Solutions notes that Apple''s Xserve is not the only option. Any 1U server
qualifies for the pricing.
