Apple Introduces New Dual-Processor Power Mac G4s

Apple today announced revamped Power Macintosh G4s, all running dual processors. The
top-of-the-line model runs dual 1.25GHz CPUs ($3,299. The base and intrermediate
models feature dual 867MHz ($1,699) and 1GHz CPUs ($2,499), respectively. SuperDrives
are standard in 1GHz and 1.25GHz configs.
The memory bus in the higher-end models is now 167MHz (not DDR), while the base config
remains 133MHz. The Power Mac also feature beefed up graphics power by shipping ATI''s
Radeon''s 9000 series in the ''better'' and ''best'' configurations.
In related news ,the superseded Power Mac G4s line have had significant price
reductions, with the previous base configuration now costing $1,299. The 933MHz model
now costs $1,499 and the formerly high-end dual 1GHz now costs $2,199.
The dual-867 will ship at the end of this week, the dual-1GHz by the end of August and
the dual-1.25GHz in September.
