Logitech adds mouse/KB combo

Sacrificing beauty for comfort is a thing of the past with the company''s new Cordless
Comfort Duo

Logitech has announced the immediate availability of a new Mac-compatible stylish
black keyboard with a contoured split-key layout designed for the ultimate in comfort.
The Cordless Comfort Duo is the final addition to the suite of new cordless desktops
introduced by Logitech this year. Coupled with a black and silver Cordless MouseMan
Optical, this smart looking, keyboard and mouse combination is currently available.

Increasingly, users are discovering the benefits of wireless on the desktop. A
cordless keyboard allows the user to position the keyboard in a manner that is most
comfortable in relation to seating position and desk height without being limited by
the cord length. With the Cordless Comfort Duo, the keyboard will fit easily on a
pullout tray. In addition, the contoured shape makes this an excellent choice for
typists who are at the keyboard for extended hours.

The Cordless Comfort Duo features multimedia controls, which are placed within easy
reach and provide one-touch control of media functions. The Internet hot keys can be
programmed to give instant access to email, search engines and a list of favorite Web
sites.

The comfortable design of the Cordless MouseMan Optical fits snugly into the palm of
the right hand. The 800dpi optical sensor delivers smooth cursor movement across a
range of different surfaces. The Cordless MouseMan Optical can be used nearly anywhere
within a six-foot radius of the receiver, which allows users to position themselves in
a manner most comfortable to them.

All of Logitech''s cordless peripherals for the desktop are based on proven
proprietary digital radio technology, which ensures reliable performance within a
six-foot radius of the receiver with no line-of-sight requirement. The receiver can be
set off the desk or even behind the computer without affecting performance.
Logitech''s cordless devices utilize a 12-bit digital secure ID code that enables
multiple cordless devices to operate in close proximity without the risk of
interference.

The Cordless Comfort Duo is available now for $99 (SRP) direct from Logitech or from
the company''s retail partners.

Analysis: M$ makes a fair number of Mac-compatible input devices, but their offerings
pale in comparison to Logitech. The two companies both do well in terms of providing
updated drivers. It is worth noting that Logitech''s new products are X-compatible
only -- no Classic drivers appear to be forthcoming.
