Aladdin updates StuffIt for Jaguar
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
October 23rd 2002
With bug fixes and improved speed, the Deluxe and Standard versions are more
compatible with Apple's latest OS
Aladdin has released StuffIt Deluxe 7.0.1 and StuffIt Standard Edition 7.0.1 for
Classic and X. The latest versions of their access and compression utility. These free
updates fixe bugs and compatibility issues with X.2, and improve compression speed.
StuffIt Deluxe provides new features and functionality compared to older versions of
StuffIt, including 512-bit encryption, improved compression (up to 30 percent),
error-correction, support for long file names and larger archive size. The Standard
Edition is the successor to StuffIt Lite.
Editor's note: As has become habit for software vendors, there was no direct mention
that v7.0 wasn't Jaguar compatible. This mirrors obfuscation by McAfee, Dantz and
others. As with most things in life, honesty is the best policy.
