QuickBooks v5.0 beta seeded
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
October 29th 2002
The promised rebirth of the accounting tool for small businesses is proceeding on
course
Think Secret reports that "sources" have confirmed that software developer Intuit
recently seeded a beta release of QuickBooks Pro Edition 5.0.
As IGM reported back in August, Intuit has made a multi-year commitment to produce the
SOHO accounting app. QuickBooks v5.0 is expected to ship in early 2003, and will offer
X and Classic compatibility.
A company representative confirmed that the company has released a beta of the Mac
version and is actively testing it, according to Think Secret.
Editor's note: Good news for SOHO Mac users and the platform as a whole. However, one
would hope that v5.0 will be vastly superior to the last version Intuit shipped for
the Mac, which was riddled with bugs and stability problems.
