Redcort revs Virtual TimeClock to v2.5
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
November 4th 2002
Pitch your old, unreliable mechanical time clock and dust off that LC575
Redcort Software has released v2.5 of its benchmark Virtual TimeClock Standard
Edition. A software time clock for employees, that tracks arrivals, departures, hours
worked and overtime, the new version adds AutoBackup, an updated interface, support
for Classic mode in Mac OS X 10.2 and some bug fixes.
New Auto BackUp automatically checks file integrity and backs up your data
Updated interface with larger time clock
Supports any Mac running system 7.1 through 9.2.2
Supports running under Classic mode under X
Virtual TimeClock Standard Edition is $129 for Mac OS 7.1 through 9.2.2. This is not
currently available for OS X. However, the pro edition (v4.0) is. Also, this appears
to be a for-pay update as no updater is (yet?) available on the company's website or
via MacUpdate.com.
Editor's note: Putting out an update that specifically supports Classic mode under X,
but can't be explicitly launched under X is a new twist of Jaguar compatibility, at
least to this observer. Are there other vendors that have used this method? Quark,
perhaps?
