PowerMac, InDesign deal extended to ME

Mac unit volumes have increased in Arab countries of late and Apple is shoring up that
trend
AME Info, a Middle East (ME) business pub, reports that Apple's ME distributor and
Adobe are teaming up for a special that allows Arab users to get Adobe's InDesign
layout application with the purchase of a new Power Mac.
�We are certainly delighted to extend our strategic partnership with Adobe Middle
East," Jacques Chammas, managing director Arab Business Machine Ltd (ABM), told AME.
"Through our latest offer, Apple's Arab clientele can save more than $1000 with every
PowerMac G4 they purchase, as it shall be coming along with InDesign 2.0 for a very
limited period.�
"Apple and Adobe are undoubtedly the premier brands in publishing, media and graphic
sectors," John Boutros of GraphEast, Adobe's ME distributor. "Our products blend
superbly with Apple's advanced technology to provide our customers with numerous
advanced functions and features."
Pushing for share
In July, we reported that ABM had seen unit volumes rise 40 percent and revenues up 15
percent over the last three years. Chammas said at the time that much of this growth
is attributable to Apple's sharpened product and marketing focus after the return of
his Steveness.
As reported by IGM, similar deal that runs through Dec 31 is also available to North
American buyers.
Editor's note: It would seem Mssr Chammas is quite aggressively driving ABM's Mac
business. It's good to see can do people like him. It's a pity there aren't more.
